Dr. Stubbs is a psychologist who has practiced with children, adolescents, adults, and families for 15 years. She specializes in comprehensive, individually-tailored neuropsychological and psychological evaluations. She has specialized training and experience in conducting diagnostic assessments, including Autism-specific diagnostic evaluations, as well as treatment evaluations among children and adults. Treatment areas of specialization include trauma, anxiety and depression, ADHD, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, family dynamics, as well as stress management.

Dr. Stubbs’s clinical interests include integrative (biopsychosocial) health care, mindfulness, trauma-informed care/trauma-focused practice, and family systems. The emphasis of her clinical work is to promote enhanced neuropsychological functioning to encourage overall well-being throughout the lifespan.

Dr. Stubbs takes a thorough approach to evaluations and treatments. For evaluations this includes:

  • A 60 – 90 minute Telehealth intake focusing on pertinent details about the presenting questions and concerns and gathering important background information
  • In-person testing appointment, that can span anywhere from 3 to 7 hours
  • The final appointment is a 1-hour Telehealth feedback. This involves a review of a the results to answer the evaluation questions. At this time a full written report and a summary of the results are provided that includes individualized recommendations for next steps.

Evaluations
Intake – what questions you most need and want answered.
Testing – several different activities to better understand cognitive, executive, social, emotional, and daily functioning amongst other factors.
Feedback – get answers to the questions that led to the evaluation.
Therapy
Dr. Stubbs specializes in treating trauma/PTSD, stress reactions/problems, difficult family dynamics, anxiety, depression, and social skills problems. She uses an integrative approach that incorporates mindfulness, accelerated experiential dynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, coherent therapy, and behavioral activation as well as other techniques.
Consultation/Supervision
Dr. Stubbs offers clinical consultation for providers and supervision for trainees. She is able to help providers sharpen their clinical lens to be a better diagnostician and deepen their therapeutic work to help clients make meaningful changes.

Dr. Stubbs is an in-network provider for the following programs Comprehensive Community Services of Dane County (CCS) and Quartz. Out-of-network services are provided on a self-pay basis and to accommodate individual needs various fee options are available. For self-pay, an individual/family seeking services is responsible for obtaining reimbursement from their insurance. To assist with this billing codes and other relevant information is provided.
